Progress Reports

Hey all,

Wow I am awful about updating this blog, aren’t I? The straightforward explanation is I’d rather put my energies toward putting out the next book than come up with filler updates, so here we are. That said: yesterday I finished the rough draft for Good Intentions IV, which is always the most time-consuming part of production. Revision rounds generally go much faster for me. I have the cover art in production now, too.

As a projection: This book won’t be out until after the New Year, though I don’t want to say when. Audible has expressed interest in doing an audio version and I’d like to coordinate with them, but they can’t get to work on that until my work is done. Additionally, I’ve tried December releases before and they don’t exactly soar.

GI IV will involve the entire gang again, though a couple members of our ever-growing ensemble will have a little less involvement as life has gone on for everyone. Zafirah is back to call in her marker with Alex and we’ll also see more of the mercs from Personal Demons, along with an explanation of what they were up to in Iraq. Turns out it’s much more connected to the gang than anyone expects.

As a note about my presence in the interim: I’m deliberately using Facebook less, as it’s completely unreliable as a platform in addition to the ever-growing mountain of dodgy garbage from Facebook as a company itself. Shoot me an email at elliottkaybooks@gmail.com if you want direct notification of new releases from me. New releases are the only communication you’ll ever get from me other than direct replies, and I keep notifications on the bcc line to avoid sharing the list.

Also: If you’re jonesing for more Good Intentions goodness, My Patreon Page offers a monthly short story and one or two sneak peeks at current projects a month! Subscribing will get you access to all of the content so far–currently EIGHT Good Intentions short stories, a Poor Man’s Fight short, and a whole lot of other bells and whistles. Give it a look!

That’s it for me. Back to work on the book. Take care!

Awesome! Can’t wait for GI4, in audio format, of course.
Tess Irondale is a perfect narrator for this series.
    Thank you for the update!

    Elliott,

Glad to hear about the Patreon page. I will be sure to check it out.
I have a question I am Listening to Good Intentions again. It seems like there was an audio edit and revision towards the end, am I correct? If I am and you know the change I am talking about the previous version seemed more real to me.
Thank you for creating some of my favorite characters. I still think these books would make a great series on HBO.

    Thanks Again.

Any idea when we’ll see more of Taylor? Thanks for releasing more good intentions as well, I’ll need to reread that series to catch back up.

Also, in the poor mans fight universe, whatever happened to Casey’s XO? Lauren I think it was?

Thanks Elliot, really looking forward to this one.
It took me a bit to work out who Zafirah was as I had never read her name, only listened to it on audible (3 times).
We will probably get to find out who the black ops cyborgs are as well.

    Cheers
    Gary

Hey all, a quick note: sorry about leaving comments in moderation for so long. I have to have them screened because otherwise I get spam. Something got goofed in the notifier and I didn’t realize people were waiting on that. It’s an ongoing thing.

    Thanks!

Hi I notice none have asked about Amanda she schould be back at school about now going by the end of Days of High Adventure. I am looking forward to her, Molly and Onyx talk magic considering Amada’s perspectiv on it. (You note you already have an large cast so no problem if there isnt spasce for her on screen).

I’ve thrown out a couple references to Amanda here and there along the way. The DoHA crew is fine, I love them but don’t have any plans for them currently.

Its a bit of a pity you had to make Vietnam Alex an infantry grunt. He could have been a fighter pilot. You could still kill him easily (shot down, captured and more). It would add to story more than the whole racist grandfather spiel.

My two cents, FWIW….Redemption is a major theme in GI, and I think that tying his past life into this one this way was a stroke of genius. Granted, it wasn’t such a major plot point, in that it didn’t get that much attention devoted to it, but it’s a perfect accompaniment to the main theme.
